On November 1, 2025, the Blaues Haus will host Xue Qinghe, founder of Zhibenshe and a leading macroeconomics expert, for a public lecture in Berlin.
In this talk, Xue will analyse the current state and prospects of China’s new energy industry.
Registration details can be found at the end of this announcement.
In recent years, the rapid development of China’s new energy sector has brought both significant opportunities and deep challenges.
Xue Qinghe will discuss the industry’s current landscape, policy environment, and the Chinese government’s motivations for promoting new energy, while exploring its long-term outlook.
The lecture will address and invite discussion around the following key questions:
- Why has the Chinese government made such a strong push for developing the new energy industry, including new energy vehicles (NEVs)?
- Is the growth of China’s new energy sector primarily market-driven, policy-driven, or a combination of both?
- How sustainable are China’s supportive industrial policies under mounting debt pressure?
- What is the future outlook for China’s new energy industry?
- Can Chinese electric vehicles challenge or even replace those from Europe, the U.S., and Japan?
